Christmas Day
It is a great day. The tree is lit, the presents are scattered, and the stockings are full. The best part so far is that my munchkins are still fast asleep and I am drinking my coffee soaking in God's gifts. Thanks God. What a fun day. I anticipate the kiddos any moment running down the stairs as it is getting lighter outside, but this moment of anticipation is actually very peaceful.
I am thankful for this season. It causes me to stop and reflect on the birth of His Son. It is amazing how, although the story never changes, it is more miraculous to me each year. It is a glimpse of heaven on earth. It is like "one day in his courts." Reminds me of this song in some ways that I am listening to ...

Today in my quiet time, God spoke a very clear verse to my heart.
Isaiah 30:15 -
"In repentance and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust is your strength."
I need to be quiet and trust. This is my strength.
Amidst family situations,
amidst job situations and layoffs,
in quietness and trust, is my strength.
No drama. Quietness and trust.

It is as if scales fall of of your eyes, enabling you to see more and more of My glorious riches. With your eyes thus opened, you can help yourself to whatever you need from My treasure house. Each time you receive one of My golden gifts, let your thankfulness sing out praises to My Name. Hallelujahs are the language of heaven, and they can become the language of your heart.
